Newsletter Sign-up
If you use the newsletter sign-up form we only collect the data shown in the form. Your email is a required field so we can send you the newsletter. Your First Name and Last Name are optional and enable us to address the newsletter to you personally.
Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

The following is the General Privacy Notice for the church, which is given to people attending the church who want to leave us their details.
PRIVACY NOTICE – General – King Street Baptist Church, Thetford
Under Data Protection legislation the church Charity Trustees of King Street Baptist Church are the Data Controller and can be contacted by emailing the Data Protection Trustee on data.protection@kingstreetbaptist.org.uk.
We are collecting this information to enable the church to keep in touch with you and provide pastoral support as appropriate. Data Protection legislation allows us to process this information as we regard it as being in the church’s legitimate interest.
Your name and contact details and possibly date of birth will be stored on the Church Secretary’s and Minister’s computers. These are password protected and accessed only by the relevant person. Information will be shared with Church/group leaders as required for relevant communication purposes. Your contact details will be removed from the records once you are no longer connected with the church unless you agree to remain as one of our ‘church friends’.
To enable us to provide adequate pastoral support to you and your family, the Minister may record information which may be regarded as sensitive. This information will be stored in a locked filing cabinet or on a password protected computer only accessible to the Minister. The information will NOT be disclosed to anyone else without your consent.
You have the right to see any information we hold about you (including the pastoral support information) by submitting a ‘Subject Access Request’ to the Data Protection Trustee. You also have the right to ask for information which you believe to be incorrect to be rectified.
If you are concerned about the way your information is being handled please contact our Data Protection Trustee (data.protection@kingstreetbaptist.org.uk). If you are still unhappy you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioners Office.
Additional text for Church Directory consent:
We would like to include your name and contact details in our Church Directory which will be distributed in hard copy to everyone in the directory except for those in the ‘Friends’ section. We will not give copies of the Church Directory to anyone else. You can ask for your details to be removed at any time.

From time to time photos or videos may be taken at church events for use on our website or in other ways, or events may be recorded, uploaded or livestreamed online to reach out to those who are unable to attend in person. For these purposes we ask for your consent for us to use your image.
